Lucas Vázquez expected to miss rest of season for Real Madrid

Following tests carried out by Real Madrid on Sunday, it has been confirmed that Lucas Vázquez has suffered a cruciate ligament sprain in his left knee, meaning the Spaniard will likely miss the remainder of the season.

The player’s injury is fortunately not serious enough to require an operation, however since it is a sprain in a knee ligament, he has suffered a slight fiber tear. The injury could deal a big blow for the versatile player’s Euro 2020 aspirations with Luis Enrique’s Spain. Vázquez’s current deal at Madrid ends in June and as it stands both sides are not close to an agreement.
