Sevilla winger Lucas Ocampos spoke after his team defeated AS Roma to win the Europa League in Budapest on Wednesday night.
“So many things come to my mind… what I had to suffer to experience this again. Football gives revenge and it changes very quickly. Three months ago I was alone and now I’m a European champion,” Ocampos said in quotes reported by Diario AS.
“It was a Sevilla type of game. You have to suffer to win; this is not easy. What we have with this (pointing to the Europa League) can’t be explained. Let me celebrate!”
Sevilla beat Roma on penalties to lift the seventh Europa League in their history.
Full-back Gonzalo Montiel, who won the World Cup with Argentina in Qatar in December, scored the all-important penalty for the Andalusian outfit on the night.
