Lucas Ocampos is set to return early to Sevilla from his loan to Ajax, report Relevo.
The 28-year-old joined the Dutch club on a loan deal for the 2022/23 season from the Andaluz outfit, however, he failed to make an impression in the Eredivisie.
Ocampos hasn’t played a single minute for Ajax since October and he was not included in any of the matchday squads in the new year.
Earlier in January it was reported that the Argentine was keen to return to Sevilla and it appears as though Los Nervionenses have struck a deal with Ajax to terminate the loan deal.
According to the initial agreement, Ajax would pay €4m to have the player for the 2022/23 season, and they would have the option to purchase him permanently for €16m in the summer of 2023.
Based on the new deal, Ocampos would return to Sevilla and Ajax only need to pay back €1m to Los Nervionenses from the initial €4m loan fee.
