A member of the midfield ranks at La Liga giants Barcelona has made his way back onto the transfer wishlist of Liverpool.
That’s according to Mundo Deportivo, citing Caught Offside, who point towards Frenkie de Jong as the player in question.
De Jong, for his part, has spent recent weeks reestablishing himself as an important member of the engine room ranks in boss Hansi Flick’s squad.
Having seemingly put his long-standing injury problems behind him, the Dutchman has produced a number of standout performances, looking close to his brilliant best once more.
And such efforts have evidently not gone unnoticed in England.
This comes amid confirmation that the aforementioned Liverpool, long-term admirers of De Jong’s talents, are giving consideration to a renewed push for his signature in the summer.
Ahead of the expiration of the former Ajax man’s contract in the summer of 2026, the Reds are ready to offer up a cut-price sum in the region of €35 million.
Barca’s response is likely to hinge on the development of contract talks with De Jong over the months ahead.
