Leading Barcelona star ‘scolded’ by Hansi Flick in front of teammates

Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick called a key member of his squad out in no uncertain terms over the early weeks of the season.

That’s according to Mundo Deportivo, who point towards the development in question as having come during an early-season training session.

The player in question, who remains unnamed but is labelled a ‘heavyweight’ of the Barcelona squad, is understood to have arrived at a morning training session late.

As much came whilst the Blaugrana’s stars were being put through double sessions on a daily basis, in an effort to ramp up fitness levels.

The individual simply overslept, an excuse which went down altogether poorly with his new manager.

In turn, as per MD:

‘The situation did not please the Heidelberg coach at all, who did not hesitate to scold him in front of the rest of the team and the staff.’

This came as a clear show of intent on Flick’s part, who was eager to put across to his squad that tardiness, regardless of player status, will simply not be tolerated under his watch.
