Lamine Yamal & João Félix respond to Barcelona’s defeat to PSG

Two headline members of the attacking ranks at La Liga giants Barcelona have taken to social media, to provide their respective responses to the club’s European campaign coming to an end.

Barca, of course, marked their return to action on Tuesday night, welcoming French champions Paris Saint-Germain to Catalunya’s capital for the Champions League quarter-final 2nd-leg meeting between the clubs.

Xavi’s troops headed into proceedings boasting the tag of favourites, after emerging on the right side of a 3-2 result in Paris last week.

When all was said and done on an evening to forget for the Blaugrana, however, it was PSG who marched on, courtesy of a 4-1 rout.

Aware that their chances of silverware for the season have now likely come to an end, it should in turn come as little surprise to hear of the atmosphere in the Barcelona camp being an altogether somber one.

The likes of Xavi, Frenkie de Jong and İlkay Gündoğan all expressed their regrets with how matters unfolded over the hours prior, post-match at Montjuïc.

And, as alluded to above, in the early hours of Wednesday, two more of the club’s stars have followed suit, by way of posts on their respective social media platforms.

First up was youngster Lamine Yamal, who took to Instagram to assure that:

“There will always be rematches in football. We’ll be back.”

Attacking partner in crime João Félix, on the other hand, struggled to showcase similar positivity in an Instagram post of his own, simply writing:

“No words…”
