Lamine Yamal breaks teammate Gavi’s record as Barcelona book Super Cup final berth

Barcelona sensation Lamine Yamal etched his name ever further into the history books of Spanish football this evening, en route to guiding Xavi’s troops into the finale of the Supercopa de España.

Barca, of course, marked their return to action a short time ago.

After watching arch rivals Real Madrid book their spot in Sunday’s Super Cup showpiece, the Blaugrana went head-to-head with Osasuna, with hopes of setting up yet another mouthwatering Clásico clash.

And, when all was said and done, this is precisely what they managed.

After Robert Lewandowski put Xavi and co. in front just shy of the hour mark, the aforementioned Lamine Yamal rounded out the scoring deep into added time.

And, in the process, Yamal secured for himself fresh history.

As revealed in the aftermath of his latest strike on the senior stage, the gifted wide-man, at just 16 years of age, has broken Barcelona teammate Gavi’s record as the youngest goalscorer ever in the Supercopa de España.
