Lamine joins 4-man list: Which Barcelona stars have received a standing ovation at the Bernabéu

Barcelona sensation Lamine Yamal joined an altogether exclusive club, owing to his exploits on the international front earlier this week.

Lamine, for his part, was of course afforded a starting berth for Spain, in the country’s high-profile friendly showdown with Brazil on Tuesday.

And, as seems to prove the case on every occasion on which he steps foot on the pitch of late, the winger, still just 16, went on to dazzle once more.

Lamine lit up Spain’s right flank, courtesy of a remarkable blend of touch, poise, explosiveness, and finished product.

So impressive was the starlet over the course of the 90 minutes, in fact, that his performance was recognised by way of a standing ovation, on the part of the Santiago Bernabéu crowd.

So awestruck were those in attendance at Real Madrid’s ground, that rivalries were put momentarily to one side, to ensure that Lamine was afforded the kind of reception he deserved.

And, as alluded to above, in the process, the attacker joined an exclusive club.

As revealed by Diario Sport, only four Barcelona players have ever been granted a standing ovation owing to their efforts at the Bernabéu.

The quartet in question? Diego Maradona, Ronaldinho, Andrés Iniesta, and now, Lamine.
