La Liga report Getafe for offensive chants at Real Madrid pair Vinícius & Ceballos

La Liga officials have today forwarded an official report to the RFEF Competition Committee and the Anti-Violence Commission, regarding a pair of incidents in last week’s meeting between Getafe and Real Madrid.

That’s according to Diario Sport, who have provided an insight into the details of the situation.

Table-topping Real Madrid, of course, made the trip to the Estadio Coliseum last Thursday, for a La Liga clash.

Los Blancos ultimately emerged on the right side of a 2-0 scoreline, owing to a brace by way of veteran frontman Joselu.

En route to their side’s eventual victory, however, two members of Carlo Ancelotti’s squad were the victims of offensive chanting on the part of the home crowd.

Wide-man Vinícius Jr was one such player, as cited in La Liga’s report:

“Through the social networks, and coinciding with the arrival of the visiting team, a recording was detected among the crowded crowd, in which numerous local fans chanted intolerant chants, heard individually the shouts of “sons of a bitch” and “Vinicius, monkey”, being accompanied by several fans with the chant, “Real Madrid, whores”.”

And fellow Real man Dani Ceballos was also targeted in cruel fashion, with chants of ‘hick’ and ‘gypsy’:

“In the 60th minute of the match, a group of local fans, located in the lower south end, sector J, located behind the goal above a banner with the motto ‘Comandos 94’, sang in a choral and coordinated manner, for approximately 10 seconds, the chant, “he is a paleto, Ceballos is a paleto”, directed at a visiting player.”

Taking into account all information provided, the RFEF will now be tasked with coming to a decision on an appropriate sanction for Getafe and their supporters.
