La Liga pair ready to lock horns for Barcelona’s Vitor Roque

Two leading La Liga clubs are ready to go head-to-head over the signature of Barcelona youngster Vitor Roque this summer.

That’s according to Diario Sport, who point towards both Real Betis and Sevilla as having set their sights firmly on the Brazilian with a view to next season.

The name of frontman Roque has of course returned to the forefront of the headlines in Catalunya’s capital across the week to date.

This comes amid fresh claims that the powers that be at Barcelona have come to the decision to farm their struggling attacker out on loan.

Amid his ongoing woes in carving out a place for himself in Xavi’s frontline since his January arrival in Spain, Roque’s best route forward, it has been established, would be to link up with another La Liga club for the 2024/25 campaign.

And two such clubs already understood to be sniffing around the signature of the 19-year-old come in the form of Andalusian rivals Real Betis, and Sevilla.

Fresh off locking horns on the pitch over the weekend, the neighbours could soon do likewise in the boardroom, in efforts to land Roque.

Betis are viewed as the front-runners as things stand, with Sport highlighting that the Verdiblancos brass boast an excellent relationship with their counterparts at Barcelona.

It now remains to be seen whether the player himself has a preferred landing spot.
