La Liga clubs unite to reduce prices for away supporters next season

Over half of the clubs in La Liga (11) have agreed a deal to cap away ticket prices next season to a maximum of €25.

The teams involved in the deal are Almería, Athletic Club, Atlético Madrid, Cádiz, Celta Vigo, Girona, Mallorca, Real Betis, Real Sociedad, Sevilla, and Valencia, report Relevo. Some clubs are not keen on the deal, for example, Real Madrid, who have on occasion this season sold out their away ticket allowance whilst charging as much as €95 per ticket.

Barcelona are looking into and considering the deal. Similarly to Real Madrid, Barça could charge considerably more, however, this deal is about all teams reaching an agreement for the good of Spanish football.

Attendance figures in Spain this season were at just under 30,000 on average, but the vast majority of that figure is made up of home fans and La Liga want away tickets to be more accessible. The newly promoted La Liga teams are expected to join the agreement as well.
