La Liga chief reveals updated odds on Kylian Mbappé joining Real Madrid

La Liga president Javier Tebas has this afternoon provided a fresh insight into the ongoing saga linking Paris Saint-Germain superstar Kylian Mbappé with a move to Real Madrid.

It is of course world football’s worst kept secret that negotiations over a summer transfer are currently in full swing between France international Mbappé, and the brass at the Santiago Bernabéu.

After the frontman came to the definitive decision not to put pen to paper on fresh terms with Ligue 1 champions PSG, Real Madrid were given the green light to reignite their long-standing pursuit of the 25-year-old.

Media reports have since pointed towards discussions between the parties as having reached various stages, some adamant that an agreement is close, others assuring that work remains to be done.

One individual evidently of the opinion that Mbappé’s move to Spain is inching ever-closer, though, comes in the form of the aforementioned Javier Tebas.

Speaking to transfer insider Fabrizio Romano on Thursday, Tebas was asked for his take on the chances of Real’s swoop bearing fruit.

And the Spaniard went on to explain:

“I said it was around 50% some weeks ago, now [it] is even more.

“55/60% chances? Yes, I think so.

“Every day that passes and Mbappé does not sign the new contract with PSG, the percentage increases.”
