According to AS via French outlet L’Équipe, Kylian Mbappé has signed a deal for two years with the option of a third year and not three years as initially announced by PSG.
In May, PSG announced the renewal of Mbappé’s contract in style. In a statement, the Parisian club confirmed that the French international’s contract extension was until 2025. Mbappé even posed before the last league game against Metz with a shirt bearing the number 2025 and his name. However, the latest revelations in the French press claim that his renewal was for two years and not three as initially claimed.
According to information from L’Équipe, Mbappé’s renewal is until 2024, i.e. two years with the option of a third year that can only be exercised unilaterally by the player and not by the club.
The report adds that PSG will have to decide during the 2023-24 season whether to once again convince the forward to renew until 2025 or allow him to leave on a free transfer after 30 June 2024.
