Kylian Mbappé sends message to Real Madrid fans after Athletic Club disaster

Real Madrid star Kylian Mbappé has taken to social media, to send a message to the club’s fanbase.

This of course comes fresh off another evening to forget for the 25-year-old in Blancos colours on Wednesday.

Real Madrid made the trip to the Basque Country last night, eyeing a 4th league win on the spin in a meeting with Ernesto Valverde’s Athletic Club.

Mbappé, for his part, featured from the off in the clash, joining Rodrygo in an attacking pair.

With his side trailing by a goal to nil during the 2nd-half, the France international was then afforded the chance to drag Real back into things, from the penalty spot.

For the 2nd time in the space of a week, however, Mbappé fluffed his lines from 12 yards, a pivotal moment en route to an eventual 2-1 defeat.

As much came amid another hugely underwhelming all-round display on the part of the summer arrival in Spain’s capital.

Widespread criticism, in turn, has since rained down on Mbappé, from fans and neutrals alike.

And the struggling attacker, as alluded to above, has in turn taken to social media, to issue a response to as much.

Taking ‘full responsibility’ for Los Merengues’ defeat at San Mamés, Mbappé took to his official Instagram account, to write:

‘Bad result. A big mistake in a match where every detail count. I take full responsibility for it. A difficult moment but it’s the best time to change this situation and show who I am’
