Atlético Madrid play Club Brugge in the third round of the Champions League group stage, with kick-off scheduled at 9pm local time.
In his pre-match interview that appeared on Marca, Koke expressed his excitement around the fixture:
“Every game is different, we hope to play a good game and we will try to win it. It’s what we are paid for and we come with a lot of excitement and clear ideas. The other day [the game against Sevilla] has given us a lot of confidence. Hopefully we can play a great game tomorrow.”
He hopes that Los Colchoneros improve their performance in the Champions League:
“We would have preferred to have six points but we have three. We have to do things well, everything happens very quickly because there are many games in a row.”
The Spaniard was also asked about becoming the Atlético Madrid player with the most appearances for the club:
“I don’t think about myself, I always think about the team first. That’s how things are achieved because this is a collective sport. My virtue is that I think first of my teammates and the group to win – that’s what my parents and my teammates have instilled in me since I was a child or even since I’ve been in the First Division.”
