Kieran Trippier is set to miss Atlético Madrid’s Champions League last-16 first-leg home match against Liverpool on February 18th because of a groin strain. The England international could, however, be fit for the return leg in Anfield three weeks later.
Trippier underwent an operation on Tuesday. Atlético have since confirmed that “the operation went without any complications” and that the player will now start his recovery.
