Kieran Trippier move to Manchester United unlikely due to FA betting charge

Manchester United have held talks with Atlético Madrid right-back Kieran Trippier, according to highly-respected journalist David Ornstein of The Athletic.

A move to Old Trafford will be complicated due to Trippier’s recent 10-week suspension from football by the FA over a betting charge relating to his move from Tottenham Hotspur to Atlético in 2019. United are keen to add competition for right-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka, but a move for the former Burnley defender is now unlikely.

Trippier, 30, would be reportedly interested in a move away from Spain.
