Key Real Madrid star left out of squad to face Alavés

A headline member of the defensive ranks at La Liga giants Real Madrid has been omitted from the club’s latest matchday squad.

The player in question? Dani Carvajal.

Right-back Carvajal, for his part, was back in action over the weekend, finding the net in timely fashion en route to Real Madrid’s 4-1 La Liga drubbing of Espanyol.

In the game’s latter stages, however, it became increasingly evident that the Spanish international was struggling with some form of fitness problem.

Drawn on the situation post-match, Carlo Ancelotti went on to point towards as much as having come in the form of little more than a ‘knock’.

But, evidently, the knock in question has proven significant enough to rule Carvajal out of contention to feature on Tuesday night.

Los Blancos are primed to return to action in a little over 24 hours’ time, in a La Liga meeting with Deportivo Alavés.

And the club’s first-choice right-back has not been included in the squad of players for the Santiago Bernabéu clash, showcased in full below:
