Two leading members of the first-team setup at La Liga giants Real Madrid on Friday linked back up with the rest of Carlo Ancelotti’s squad in group training.
The pair in question? David Alaba, and Vinícius Jr.
Defender Alaba, for his part, has of course been sidelined since late last year, owing to an ACL rupture.
Wide-man Vinícius, meanwhile, has missed Real Madrid’s last three outings, after picking up a thigh injury en route to Los Blancos’ 3-0 downing of Leganés in November.
Amid nothing short of an injury crisis in the Spanish champions’ squad at present, it will in turn no doubt come as a welcome source of relief to hear that both players are closing on returns to the pitch.
As showcased in the photos below, Alaba and Vinícius played their part in the first portion of group training at Valdebebas on Friday.
Neither will be available to face Girona on Saturday, but their respective comebacks can now be considered a significant step closer.
