Key Real Madrid pair left out of squad for Real Sociedad clash

Two headline members of the first-team ranks at La Liga giants Real Madrid have been omitted from the club’s latest matchday squad.

Real, of course, are set to mark their return to action on Friday night.

Fresh off putting arch rivals Barcelona to the sword, and in the process all but sealing the La Liga title, Carlo Ancelotti’s troops will make the trip to Anoeta, for a meeting with Real Sociedad.

En route to the Basque Country, Los Blancos will no doubt already have one eye turned firmly towards matters on the continent, ahead of next Tuesday’s Champions League semi-final first-leg showdown with Bayern Munich.

In turn, it should perhaps not come as a major surprise to hear of a couple of Real’s most trusted stars being in line for some much-needed rest on Friday.

The capital giants a short time ago unveiled the club’s travelling squad bound for Anoeta.

And absent are both Ferland Mendy – who has been dealing with a case of muscular overload this week – and Jude Bellingham:
