Karim Benzema: “I have a contract with Real Madrid and I feel good at the moment but after that? I don’t know.”

Karim Benzema will experience one of the most special matches of his long career tonight as France take on Finland in their 2022 World Cup qualifier. The striker returns to Lyon, this time in the shirt of the French national team, to play for the first time at Lyon’s new stadium, the Parc OL. In an interview with Le Progrès, the France international was asked about a possible return to the club that was his home for many years.

“I have a contract with Real Madrid. I feel good at the moment. After that? I don’t know, because I’m taking it one year at a time. If I feel good, I’ll continue in football, and if I don’t feel good, we’ll see. But at the moment I have a two-year contract with Real Madrid,” said Benzema, who also added that he is very happy to be playing at Parc OL for the first time.
