Karim Benzema distances himself from former France team-mates

Karim Benzema continues to distance himself from his former France team-mates, completely disassociating himself from several of them on Instagram.

AS report that the Real Madrid forward has unfollowed many of his former team-mates in his final days as a France international. Of all the France squad members in Qatar, only Eduardo Camavinga, Marcus Thuram, Aurélien Tchouaméni, Kylian Mbappé and Raphael Varane have not been unfollowed by the current Ballon d’Or winner.

On 20 November, just two days after landing in Qatar, Benzema was forced to leave the French camp with a quadriceps injury. Days later, L’Équipe reported that some members of the national team felt relieved by his departure. The French newspaper also reported a bad relationship between Didier Deschamps and the player, who wanted to stay and recover in Qatar, but the head coach had other plans.

Benzema has since announced his retirement from international football with Les Bleus.
