Juventus in talks for Real Madrid full-back Álvaro Odriozola

Juventus have opened talks for Real Madrid full-back Álvaro Odriozola, according to Foot Mercato journalist Santi Aouna.

The Italian outfit, who saw him perform in Serie A when on loan with Fiorentina, have contacted the player’s entourage over a return to Italy.

Juventus reportedly want to sign Odriozola on a six-month loan deal from January until the end of the 2022-23 season.

In the summer, talks were held with Nottingham Forest, as reported by AS, but he ended up staying at the Santiago Bernabéu.

Lucas Vázquez has featured at right-back when first-choice right-back Dani Carvajal has been out of the side. Antonio Rüdiger has also appeared on the right on four occasions this season.

It remains to be seen what Real Madrid will decide, as his contract expires in 2024. Odriozola has not played a single minute for Los Blancos this season.

In the 2019-20 season, the 26-year-old went to loan to Bayern Munich, and with a lack of minutes under Carlo Ancelotti, he could be interested in a return to Serie A in the new year.
