Real Madrid star Jude Bellingham has taken to social media, to send a message of support to Federico Valverde.
This comes in the aftermath of the Uruguayan’s headline-grabbing mistake during his side’s La Liga meeting with Athletic Club.
Real were of course condemned to another defeat on Wednesday night, downed by two goals to one at San Mamés.
The aforementioned Fede Valverde, meanwhile, played a central role in as much, for all the wrong reasons.
Fresh off Los Blancos drawing level ten minutes from time, the midfielder needlessly surrendered possession deep in his own half, allowing Gorka Guruzeta to break through and slot beyond Thibaut Courtois.
This proved the game’s decisive moment, leaving Valverde nothing short of crestfallen following the full-time whistle.
Messages of support, in turn, have since come flooding in for a player who is widely considered to be the most consistent performer in Carlo Ancelotti’s squad.
And, as alluded to above, amongst those to have thrown their backing behind Valverde post-match was Jude Bellingham.
Taking to the comments section of the 26-year-old’s apologetic Instagram post, Valverde’s midfield partner-in-crime wrote:
‘No apology needed – win and lose together, always.’
