Updates on the wellbeing of two high-profile members of La Liga giants’ Real Madrid’s squad have been provided late this evening.
The info comes courtesy of the reliable Mario Cortegana of The Athletic, who has provided an insight into the latest developments in the treatment room at Valdebebas.
First on the agenda comes Jude Bellingham.
Midfielder Bellingham has of course been sidelined since early this month, after suffering an ankle injury in Real Madrid’s La Liga drubbing of Girona.
The England international, in turn, was pencilled in for a return date in early March.
And as much remains the likeliest scenario as things stand.
As per the aforementioned Cortegana, citing sources in Spain’s capital, ‘Bellingham has a chance of playing vs Valencia (March 2nd), but is expected to return vs Leipzig (March 6th).’
Next up comes Antonio Rüdiger.
Stopper Rüdiger has been forced to sit out each of Los Blancos’ last four outings across all competitions, owing to a thigh injury.
The hope is that the German will go on to link back up with the rest of Carlo Ancelotti’s squad for training on either Thursday or Friday, but, nevertheless, he remains a doubt to feature against Sevilla this coming Sunday night.
Finally, Joselu has picked up a minor ankle problem, but is expected to be available for the weekend, whilst long-term absentee Thibaut Courtois is making steady progress, with a view to a likely April return.
