Jude Bellingham admits he has discussed 4-0 Man City defeat with Real Madrid teammate

Real Madrid star Jude Bellingham has confirmed that he discussed the club’s heavy defeat at the hands of upcoming opponents Manchester City last season with one of those to have featured in the clash.

Real are of course currently in the final stages of preparations for a return to action on the continent.

After battling their way to a 3-3 draw in the opener in Spain’s capital, Carlo Ancelotti’s troops will now make the journey to The Etihad, for the 2nd leg of their Champions League quarter-final tie with the aforementioned Man City.

The matchup marks a repeat of last season’s semi-finals in the competition, a tie which also saw the two sides share the spoils after the first leg at the Santiago Bernabéu.

In the return, however, City ran riot, en route to an eventual 4-0 triumph in Manchester.

The aforementioned Bellingham, for his part, was not present that time round, yet to take his talents to Madrid from Borussia Dortmund.

When drawn on the result during a pre-match press conference on Tuesday, though, the 20-year-old admitted that he has discussed exactly what happened at The Etihad with an unnamed teammate, urging Carlo Ancelotti’s squad to ‘learn from the mistakes’:

“Last season’s 4-0? I talked to a teammate who played that game and he explained to me how things went. We have to learn from the mistakes.”
