A member of the midfield ranks at La Liga giants Real Madrid has late this week been tipped for what would come as a somewhat surprising start in the club’s upcoming showdown with Barcelona.
José Mourinho’s Real squad are of course currently in the thick of preparations for their most important fixture of the season to date. On Sunday evening, Los Blancos will make the trip to the Spotify Camp Nou, to lock horns with arch rivals Barcelona.
The latter have had the number of their Clásico opponents over recent seasons, with Real Madrid have emerged triumphant from just one of their last seven meetings with Barca.
In the knowledge that another defeat this weekend could dent his side’s La Liga title ambitions beyond repair, José Mourinho is therefore considering springing a surprise on Blaugrana counterpart Hansi Flick.
As per a report from Marca, Eduardo Camavinga’s candidacy to feature from the off in Catalunya is ‘gaining momentum’.
Frenchman Camavinga has been used sparingly across the season to date, but ‘possesses qualities that the Real Madrid coaching staff considers crucial for trying to contain Barcelona’s attack’.
