New Real Madrid head coach José Mourinho has been left bemused by the club’s failure to secure the signature of Manchester City star Rodri.
This comes amid mounting claims that the 30-year-old has made the definitive call not to link up with Los Blancos, to instead pen terms with the club’s arch rivals, Barcelona.
Midfielder Rodri has dominated the headlines in his home country of Spain once more on Thursday, courtesy of a groundbreaking update regarding his plans for the future.
As confirmed by a whole host of sources, ahead of the expiration of his contract terms in Manchester in 12 months’ time, the Ballon d’Or winner has agreed to take his talents to Hansi Flick’s Barcelona.
An unquestionable coup for Barca, this also marks a heavy blow for Real Madrid, who had until now been considered the outright favourites to secure Rodri’s services this summer.
In turn, it should come as little surprise to learn of the response of José Mourinho to the latest developments in the saga…
As per a report from Blancos insider Sergio Valentín:
‘José Mourinho is flipping out big time. He wants a defensive midfielder.’
