Real Madrid head coach José Mourinho has admitted that he has been left somewhat taken aback by the level of a member of his defensive ranks since arriving in Spain’s capital.
The Blancos star in question? Éder Militão.
Stopper Militão is for his part yet to take to the pitch in a competitive setting in 2026/27. After being forced under the knife to deal with a serious hamstring injury late last season, the Brazilian has spent the time since in recovery.
Recent weeks have seen Militão ramp up his comeback efforts, now back out on the grass alongside the rest of Real Madrid’s stars.
And his endeavours in training have evidently left a lasting impression on the former Porto man’s new manager…
Speaking during an appearance in front of the media on Friday, José Mourinho was drawn on Militão’s name. And the Portuguese tactician went on to admit:
“I always knew Éder Militão was good, but seeing him in training, he’s even better than I thought!”
