João Félix relationship with Diego Simeone ‘not good’ but he could stay at Atlético Madrid

Spanish outlet Relevo report today that the parties involved in the João Félix situation are not ruling out the possibility of the Portuguese forward staying at Atlético Madrid.

The relationship between the Portugal international and Diego Simeone is not good but for the good of the club, the parties could find an agreement; an agreement that is likely to be temporary. But what is certain is that Atlético comes first, Simeone and the player know that.

Why could he end up staying?

First of all, his price tag is in the range of €130-140m. For now, no club will offer that kind of money. Other possible deals have been considered that could favour his departure, including a loan with an obligation to buy or a simple loan deal for six months, with his new club covering the full payment of his salary.

The problem is that it may not be financially viable (second option) for a club to shake on that agreement. The Athletic reported on Monday that the cost, between transfer and salary, could be €21m for six months.
