Barcelona president Joan Laporta evaded queries on the subject of Ferran Torres’ future with the club this week. The Spanish patron, instead, was keen to focus on incomings at the Spotify Camp Nou.
Frontman Ferran has of course been hotly tipped for an incoming Barcelona departure over recent days.
Amid the understanding that club and player are making little progress in contract renewal talks, the Spanish international – fresh off netting the winning goal in the World Cup final – has been linked with a move to France with Paris Saint-Germain.
Some outlets have gone as far as to suggest that the former Manchester City man has one foot out the Blaugrana door, with a contract extension now considered altogether unlikely.
Speaking during an exchange with the media over the last 24 hours, it therefore came as little surprise when the subject of Ferran’s place at the club was put to the aforementioned Joan Laporta.
Barcelona’s president, though, was keen to avoid the topic, instead explaining:
“We are here to meet Jorge Mendes, the agent of Adeyemi.”
