Javi Martínez could be on his way back to Athletic Club this summer, according to Sky Germany.
The former Athletic Club player’s contract at Bayern Munich is up in 2021 with no sign of a new offer coming his way.
Athletic President Aitro Elizegi, in particular, is a big supporter of Martínez’s return. In addition to Athletic, Getafe are also said to be interested in the experienced Spanish international.
The 31-year-old left Athletic in 2012 in a €40m move to Bayern. During his time in Munich, he has won seven Bundesliga titles, one Champions League and four DFB-Pokal trophies.
