Jan Oblak unlikely to play against Real Betis

Jan Oblak remains a doubt for Atlético Madrid’s match against Real Betis tomorrow, report Marca.

The Slovenian goalkeeper suffered a concussion during Los Colchoneros’ fixture at San Mamés against Athletic Bilbao last weekend.

A CT scan to examine whether he suffered any neurological injuries revealed that Oblak bruised his should when he collided with Álex Berenguer.

He did not make an appearance against Rayo Vallecano midweek, nor did he train with the rest of the Atléti squad this morning.

It is believed that he will not start for Atlético Madrid at the Estadio Benito Villamarín on Sunday afternoon unless tests carried out today confirm that he is fully fit to play.

If he is unable to make an appearance, Ivo Grbić is expected to start between the sticks, who Diego Simeone fully trusts in goal.

Atlético Madrid will be hoping to beat Real Betis in order to stay within touching distance of Bacelona and Real Madrid.
