James Rodríguez tipped for La Liga return

Former Real Madrid star James Rodríguez has on Tuesday been tipped for what would come as an altogether surprising return to La Liga.

This comes amid claims of interest in the Colombian on the part of the brass at Celta Vigo.

As per a report from Mundo Deportivo, citing Brazilian outlet Globo Esporte, James has set his sights on a summer return to Europe.

The gifted attacking midfielder is currently plying his trade in Brazil, with São Paulo.

And one club who have already made contact over the possibility of granting James’ wish with a view to next season come in the form of the aforementioned Celta Vigo.

The Celestes are understood to be on the lookout for low-cost reinforcements in the attacking third this summer.

The 32-year-old would appear to fit the bill, with the board at Balaídos therefore ready to kickstart formal negotiations with their counterparts in São Paulo.

James of course boasts ample experience of Spanish football, having spent six years on the books of Real Madrid, from 2014 through 2020.
