Colombian star James Rodriguez’s La Liga return hasn’t quite gone to plan since his move to Rayo Vallecano in the summer. Having only one match out of his five appearances in the league so far, he is still yet to cement a place in Iñigo Pérez’s plans.
Now things have gotten even worse, as the 33-year-old had to leave training on Tuesday due to injury, and is now a doubt for this weekend’s fixture against Alavés.
This is a bit of a strange contradiction for Rodriguez, who is still the star man for the Colombian national team, with a Man of the Match performance in their recent World Cup qualification tie against Chile.
The news of the injury comes courtesy of ElDesmarque, who reports that the star has suffered a hamstring strain, and is likely to miss just one match and to be out for a week at most.
Regardless, the midfielder is still yet to contribute with a goal or an assist in his time in Madrid so far and will need to start contributing sooner rather than later if he is going to make his second stint in Spain a success.
