Real Valladolid defender Iván Fresneda will have to decide between Arsenal and Borussia Dortmund, according to Guillermo Rai of The Athletic.
Arsenal and Borussia have both agreed terms for the right-back, a fee of €15m, with Fresneda to be loaned back to the La Liga side for the rest of current campaign.
Fresneda, 18, is strong going forward and is still developing his game but has gained valuable experience under Pacheta in Spain’s top tier this season.
Newcastle have also been linked with a move for the Spain U19 international, but according to the report, have since dropped out of the race.
What type of player is Fresneda?
He has good positional intelligence, can beat the press to get out of pressure, and start moves from deep. His movement off the ball helps him to create space and get rid of his marker, and a good first touch enables him to play quick passes inside or out wide.
Valladolid have a right-back who improves what he has around him. He offers the La Liga outfit solutions when they use attacking overloads. Going forward, Fresneda is excellent and defensively, he is improving.
His positional intelligence allows him to win duels and anticipate certain actions.
