Isco withdraws from Real Betis training ahead of Las Palmas clash

According to Sport, Real Betis midfielder Isco withdrew from Thursday’s training session, making him a doubt for the match against eighth-placed Las Palmas this weekend.

The 31-year-old had been doing individual training during the break until he joined the squad on Wednesday however, he withdrew from the Thursday session due to gastric discomfort.

Despite this, there is hope that the playmaker will be able to feature in the weekend’s match if he recovers well. The Spaniard was training with team-mates Borja Iglesias, Marc Roca and Aitor Ruibal at the Benito Villamarín moments before he headed to the dressing room, which has raised concerns over the physical condition of the player.

Since then, the club have clarified the cause of Isco’s early withdrawal from training and has played down its importance. Betis’ playmaker has two sessions left to see if he can participate in Sunday’s match at the Villamarín.

Manager Manuel Pellegrini will definitely be without Claudio Bravo, Marc Bartra and Youssouf Sabaly, who all remain sidelined.
