Isco sends public retirement plea to former Real Madrid teammate Toni Kroos

Real Betis star Isco has today taken to social media, to send something of a plea to ex-teammate Toni Kroos.

This comes amid the ongoing speculation that the German international could be in line to hang up his boots ahead of next season.

Kroos has never been shy in admitting his intention to retire from the game early, with the powers that be at Real Madrid having been forced to intervene on more than one occasion in an effort to convince their midfield maestro to continue.

A similar dynamic is playing out in Spain’s capital at present, with Kroos, once more, understood to be giving consideration to lowering the curtain on a legendary career.

Florentino Pérez and co, however, are desperate for him to stay put, as the 34-year-old continues to play an absolutely pivotal role in Carlo Ancelotti’s squad.

And, as alluded to above, on Monday, the Real Madrid brass have been joined in their pleas by another of Spanish football’s standout technicians.

The player in question? Isco.

Isco, of course, spent the bulk of his senior career as a teammate of Kroos, during the pair’s decorated eight-year stint together at the Santiago Bernabéu.

Now himself back firing on all cylinders with Real Betis, the 31-year-old, in turn, is desperate to see his former midfield companion continue into next season.

Taking to the comments section of Kroos’ latest Instagram post, Isco wrote:

‘Toni please… don’t back down… Let us enjoy you 2 or 3 more years’
