Isco: “I don’t like the way football is going”

Isco once again impressed during Real Betis’ one all-draw against league leaders Real Madrid and was millimetres away from clinching three points for his team.

After the game, Isco gave his analysis of the game and made a noteworthy remark about the role of referees in today’s game, “We all complain a lot. I don’t like the way football is going, with shows dedicated entirely to referring decisions. The game of football is beautiful, and we can’t waste time discussing whether the referee should have blown or not. What we need to do is concentrate on football.”

In his interview, adapted by AS, Isco also discussed the draw, which he believed was ultimately the fair result, but was disappointed with his miss right at the death, “With how close we were at the end, it could have been even better, but it was a fair result.”

Real Betis will finish the week in seventh position as they continue to push for European places.
