Inter Milan have their eyes set on a trio of Atlético Madrid players this summer. Previous reports from Mundo Deportivo have linked left-back Renan Lodi with the Italian side. But now the latest rumours are that Atlético midfielder Axel Witsel is seen as a Marcelo Brozovic replacement for Intern. With Romelo Lukaku’s future in doubt, Inter have identified Álvaro Morata as an option for next season.
Lodi spent last season on loan with Premier League club Nottingham Forest. He now returns to the Spanish capital, although his stay might not be for too long.
Brozovic appears to be exiting Milan to join either Barcelona or Al Nassr. With that in mind, Inter are focused on Belgian midfielder Witsel to reinforce their midfield. The 34-year-old is out of contract next summer, but MD understands that the player was not happy with his role under Diego Simeone last season. One thing that could put Inter off Witsel is the €8m salary.
Lastly, Morata has had interest from Saudi Arabia recently, and despite being offered a lucrative deal, he remains an Atlético player. But with Inter now sniffing around, that could change.
