‘Insane’ – Las Palmas boss García Pimienta can’t believe quality of Barcelona pair

Las Palmas head coach García Pimienta has tonight moved to lavish praise on Barcelona starlets Lamine Yamal, and Pau Cubarsí.

As much, of course, comes fresh off both playing central roles against Las Palmas a short time ago.

In their return to the pitch on the back of the international break, Los Amarillos made the trip to Catalunya on Saturday, for a daunting La Liga showdown with in-form Barcelona.

And, when all was said and done, it was indeed the Blaugrana who emerged on the right side of an eventual 1-0 result.

The scoreline did not provide an accurate representation of how things truly played out at Montjuïc, though, with the evening’s hosts having dominated proceedings throughout.

And front and centre en route to as much were, once more, the aforementioned pairing of Lamine Yamal, and Pau Cubarsí.

Just days on from returning to base in Barcelona after respective call-ups to the Spanish national team squad, wide-man Lamine and defender Cubarsí were trusted from the off this evening.

And Xavi’s faith in the pair continued to pay dividends, with the latter, in particular, having dazzled yet again at centre-half.

Speaking to the media on the back of his side’s defeat, it therefore came as little surprise when the subject of the latest contributions conjured up by Barca’s teenage sensations was put to the aforementioned García Pimienta.

And, in his response, Las Palmas’ headmaster revealed his take that Lamine and Cubarsí play as though they are a couple of seasoned veterans:

“Lamine Yamal and Pau Cubarsí are playing as if they have been in La Liga for 10 years. Insane.”
