‘Inevitable’ – Former PSG teammate confirms Kylian Mbappé will join ‘best in the world’ Real Madrid

A former teammate of Kylian Mbappé’s at Paris Saint-Germain has today revealed his take that the Frenchman linking up with Real Madrid has always been a matter of when, rather than if.

It is of course world football’s worst-kept secret that frontman Mbappé is all set to take his talents to La Liga, with Real Madrid this summer.

After informing PSG of his decision not to renew his expiring contract at the Parc des Princes, the 25-year-old has since been locked in negotiations with the brass at the Santiago Bernabéu, over the terms of a long-term deal starting from next season.

Widespread reports have pointed towards an agreement as being all but imminent between the parties, with the framework of a big-money wage packet having already been drawn up.

Speaking to the media on Tuesday, it therefore came as little surprise when the subject of Mbappé’s impending arrival in Spain was put to former teammate Ander Herrera, now of Athletic Club.

During an interview with El Chiringuito TV, midfielder Herrera, who lined out alongside the France international for three seasons at PSG, revealed his opinion that it was always ‘inevitable’ that one of the ‘best players in history’ would end up at ‘the best club in history’:

“Kylian Mbappé to Real Madrid next season? Yes, of course. I think their paths would have crossed sooner or later. It’s inevitable that Kylian ends up at the best club in the history of football. I played at United, PSG… but you can’t deny the obvious. The best players in history have to be at the most successful club in history, Real Madrid.”
