‘I will stay’ – Barcelona star confirms plans for next season

A leading member of the attacking ranks at La Liga giants Barcelona has on Thursday confirmed that he will be going nowhere this summer.

The player in question? Ferran Torres.

The name of frontman Ferran, like those of almost all of Barcelona’s stars, has of course found itself front and centre in the media chatter for several weeks now.

As much comes as the Blaugrana brass set about raising much-needed funds for reinforcements to new boss Hansi Flick’s squad.

With Ferran looking likely to be forced into a backup role in Catalunya’s capital next season, it has in turn been rumoured that, in the face of a reasonable offer, the former Manchester City man could be shipped off.

Speaking to the press whilst on international duty on Thursday, it therefore came as little surprise when the question of as much was put to the player himself.

Ferran, however, was defiant in his response, adamant that he will still be a Barcelona player in 2024/25:

“I am very calm, I will continue at Barça next year, you can now save the ink and change my name to someone else’s.”
