Real Madrid star Jude Bellingham has on Wednesday come in for criticism on the part of a fellow La Liga star.
This comes amid the suggestion that the England international is ‘a liar’ when it comes to his true intentions with people.
Bellingham has of course seen his name take its place front and centre in the headlines in Spain over recent days, for altogether less than positive reasons.
As much comes after the 21-year-old was shown a straight red card for comments towards referee José Munuera, en route to a 1-1 weekend draw with Osasuna.
Bellingham and Real Madrid alike since attemped to defend his actions, albeit with little success, giving rise to a two-game La Liga suspension.
And as alluded to above, on Wednesday, the former Borussia Dortmund man’s difficult week has been added to yet further.
This comes after Bellingham was targeted by RCD Mallorca star Pablo Maffeo.
Speaking during an interview with COPE, defender Maffeo, who has been a part of a whole string of altercations with Vinícius Jr. when on the pitch, was drawn on whom he prefers between the Brazilian and Bellingham.
And the 27-year-old made use of the opportunity to take firm aim at the latter:
“I swear to you that I like Vinícius better. You see Vinícius and you know that this one is hot (tempered) like me, this one is going to come in… But the other one is behind. It’s a bit like what happens to me in real life with people. Hey, you don’t like me? Perfect, but you’re coming straight at me.
“If you’re acting like a gentleman, if you’re going to the child who’s cold, I’ll put the jacket on him but then you insult him behind his back or mess with his teammates or whatever… Well, man, you’re a liar. Come on, it’s okay, if I don’t like you too. If you already know that, don’t come in a good mood. So that’s why I’m telling you, who do I prefer of the two? Vinícius.
Vinícius, I know what he’s like.”
