‘I don’t know if I’d join’ – Barcelona star admits Dani Olmo situation may affect future signings

Barcelona star Raphinha has revealed his take that the club’s player registration problems could yet prove costly when it comes to attracting others to the Camp Nou.

The ongoing developments behind the scenes in Catalunya’s capital have of course dominated the headlines across all of Europe over the last week.

This comes after Barcelona saw the deadline to register summer signings Dani Olmo and Pau Víctor for the 2nd half of the campaign pass them by.

After seeing appeals rejected by both La Liga and the RFEF, Olmo and Víctor are therefore ineligible to line out for Hansi Flick’s side at present.

Speaking to the media ahead of Barcelona’s Spanish Super Cup meeting with Athletic Club on Wednesday, it therefore came as little surprise when the difficult situation in which his teammates find themselves was put to the aforementioned Raphinha.

And, asked specifically if he feels that the saga could prove costly when it comes to attracting future signings to the club, the Brazilian was not shy in admitting:

“The Olmo situation may affect future signings. I can’t lie. The truth is that if I were at another club and I saw this situation, I don’t know if I’d think it was the right club for me. However, I had to wait until the last moment, and I don’t regret anything.”
