New Real Madrid signing Marc Cucurella has this week moved to throw his public backing behind Blancos teammate Vinícius Jr.
This of course comes with the pair set to strike up a key partnership in Spain’s capital beginning next season.
Cucurella was earlier this month brought to the Bernabéu in a big-money deal from Chelsea, at the request of incoming Real boss José Mourinho.
Despite the handsome sum paid for Álvaro Carreras just 12 months ago, the former Getafe man is expected to slot straight into the starting XI in Madrid moving forward.
As much means that Cucurella will join the aforementioned Vinícius Jr. as Los Merengues’ left-wing partner.
And as alluded to above, with as much in mind, the former has this week sent a message the way of his new teammate. Drawn on Vinícius’ name during an exchange with the media on Wednesday, Cucurella explained:
“I do not care if he doesn’t track back, or doesn’t help defensively. Let him stay fresh all game so he can score goals, I will do all the dirty work for him.”
