Pending official confirmation, which could come in the next few days, Luis Enrique will be the new Paris Saint-Germain head coach and the Asturian’s arrival at the Parc des Princes promises to have a direct influence on Neymar’s immediate future.
There has been talk of Neymar’s possible departure, with speculation that he could join Barcelona, but the fact that Luis Enrique is the new coach of the Ligue 1 side could change things.
According to Mundo Deportivo via L’Équipe, one of Lucho’s objectives and conditions is to keep Neymar at the club, which, in principle, would put the brakes on the Brazilian’s departure.
If confirmed, Luis Enrique and Neymar would be reunited after having shared a dressing room at Camp Nou during the 2014-15, 2015-16 and 2016-17 seasons. In those three years, they won several titles together, including the Champions League.
It is also worth noting that Neymar has a contract with PSG until June 2027.
