An insight into the likelihood of Barcelona star João Félix marking his return to the pitch in the club’s upcoming showdown with Napoli has this evening been provided.
The name of frontman Félix, of course, has taken its place in the spotlight in Catalunya’s capital across the day to date.
This comes after word was forthcoming that the Portuguese had been spotted back in training alongside the rest of Xavi Hernández’s squad.
Félix, for his part, picked up an ankle injury late last month, which was originally expected to keep him sidelined for a period of around four months.
His presence on the training pitch on Monday therefore came as a pleasant surprise for all associated with Barca, just two days out from the club’s Champions League Last-16 first leg meeting with Serie A champions Napoli.
Just how likely, though, is it that the on-loan Atlético Madrid man will actually feature in Naples?
As much has this evening been revealed, by Helena Condis of Spanish outlet COPE.
Should he avoid any form of setback over the coming 24 hours, Félix is widely expected to be part of Xavi’s travelling contingent bound for Italy.
From here, the 24-year-old would then be put through a series of pre-match checks, to establish his readiness for a comeback at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona.
As much would only come off the bench, though, with Lamine Yamal and Robert Lewandowski primed to spearhead the Barcelona attack on Wednesday night.
