La Liga giants Barcelona have on Tuesday sewn up an agreement for their first big-money signing of the summer transfer window.
That’s according to transfer insider Fabrizio Romano, who points towards Dani Olmo as the player in question.
Attacking midfielder Olmo has of course seen his name take its place front and centre in the headlines in Catalunya’s capital for several weeks now.
This comes after Barcelona came up empty-handed in their pursuit of priority target Nico Williams.
Attentions, in turn, were quickly shifted towards Olmo, whose stellar exploits at Euro 2024 with Spain only saw interest in a reunion on the part of his former employers increase.
Weeks of negotiations with RB Leipzig ensued, with as much, as alluded to above, having today borne fruit.
As per a report from Fabrizio Romano:
‘Dani Olmo to Barça, here we go! Verbal agreement in place after key mission in Leipzig for Barça director Deco.’
Barcelona have agreed to fork over an initial €55 million, plus a further €7 in potential add-ons, to bring Olmo back to the Camp Nou.
The 26-year-old will sign a contract with the club through the summer of 2030.
