‘He’ll help us’ – Xavi heaps praise on Barcelona talent Mike Faye

Barcelona head coach Xavi has today moved to reveal his admiration for the talents boasted by up-and-coming defender Mikayil Faye.

The name of youngster Faye, of course, has taken its place front and centre in the headlines in Catalunya’s capital over the course of the last couple of weeks.

As much comes after the stopper, still just 19, followed up on his first matchday call-up with Barcelona’s first-team with a swift inclusion in the latest Senegal national team squad.

And, safe to say, Faye went on to make his mark on the international stage…

Such exploits have since seen Faye maintain his spot in senior training with Xavi’s squad, following his return from international duty.

Speaking in a press conference on Friday, it therefore came as little surprise when Barca’s headmaster was drawn on both the talents of the club’s latest explosive starlet, as well as his prospects moving forward at the Camp Nou.

And Xavi was full of praise in his response, explaining:

“Mikayil Faye? He’s fast, aggressive and great on the ball. I’m sure that one day he’ll be able to help us.”
